Congratulating our 2015 Lawrence Hargrave Award Recipients
Our 6th Annual Lawrence Hargrave Awards, presented at the Conference2015 Gala Dinner, recognised members who have gone above and beyond, sharing Lawrence’s belief in open communication and the Hargraves philosophy of collaboration and ‘Collective Wisdom’.
We again congratulate the recipients of these Awards, Brookfield Johnson Controls, Transport for NSW and Food Innovation Australia Ltd (FIAL). We also congratulate The Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) and Mid North Coast Local Health District on their special awards.
In recognition of their significant contribution to members – Brookfield Johnson Controls
In recognition of their significant contribution to members, this award went to David Elton from Brookfield Johnson Controls.
Along with other members of the Advisory Council, David has given his time unselfishly behind the scenes to support the management of Hargraves on behalf of all members. David has gone beyond what was expected over several years to support the changes required for Hargraves to continue to grow after nearly 10 years. His insight and great questions have helped the development of a clear strategy from 2015 and beyond.
In recognition of their significant contribution to members – Transport for NSW
In recognition of the current and future contribution to members, this award went to Transport for NSW and Scott Bourke. Scott and his team have developed a creativity toolkit for Transport for NSW and are making this material available to all Hargraves members and other departments across the NSW public sector.
The NSW Public Service Commissioner has set an ambitious agenda for the sector to embrace innovation to deliver better services for all NSW. Transport for NSW has taken the initiative and is leading the way. Their creativity toolkit will form part of our ‘collective wisdom’.
In recognition of their significant contribution to Australia’s future – Food Innovation Australia Ltd (FIAL)
Each year Hargraves selects one member that has undertaken a big Picture initiative or activity with the goal being success on behalf of all working Australians.
FIAL was created during the previous government, has been successful under the current government and has had its future confirmed for the next 4 years. The goal of FIAL is to help the whole of the Australian food, beverage and agri-business sector become more successful through innovation and collaboration. Both Peter Schutz, FIAL’s Chairman and Dr Mirjana Prica, FIAL’s Managing Director, have been involved in Hargraves Institute in their previous positions at George Weston Foods, with Peter being a founding member of Hargraves.
FIAL has also been responsible for developing future leaders by making our Leadership for Innovation program available to this sector.
Additional Award – The Health Education and Training Institute
In recognition of the co-development of our programs that have been shared across the membership and sharing of their implementation experiences, this award goes to Health Education Training Institute, part of NSW Health.
HETI in collaboration with Hargraves has developed the Clinician Executive Leadership program that uses both design thinking and X-Teams methodology from Hargraves members with other leadership methodologies. This material has become part of our X-Teams in Design program used by Coca-Cola Amatil and the Hong Kong Jockey Club. X-Teams in Design forms part of our ‘collective wisdom’ available to all members.
We also congratulate members CCH and QUT who achieved their 5 Year Membership Awards, and Mid North Coast Local Health District on their Catalyst Award.
