How leading organisations innovate [Case Studies]

Insights from the Public Sector Innovation Awards
Hargraves Study Tours for Finalists

They say what goes on tour, stays on tour. But not when the tour is arranged by Hargraves to promote collaboration and shared insights across diverse sectors and industries.

The following case studies were written for Hargraves by Adam Costantini, Contract Management Officer, Directorate of Base Services: Management, Integration & Coordination, Department of Defence. Adam was a guest of Hargraves on the first PSIA2016 Tour.

“I was lucky enough to be included in the Study Tour to showcase industry approaches to innovation, which was organised by Hargraves Institute for finalists of the APS Innovation Awards*. As well as the finalists, a small number of members and guests of Hargraves Institute and Catalyst Exchange were invited to attend, so the cohort included representatives from academia, private and public sector industries.”

Share Adam’s insights on how these leading organisations innovate:

  • CSR “Engaging people for ideas for improvement and innovation with tangible success”
  • CSIRO “ON Program, which helps scientists become innovators, from idea to application and beyond”
  • Microsoft “How being social, using applications such as Yammer, is essential for collaboration and innovation”
  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise “A fascinating insight into the opportunities and processes for digital transformation”

(CSR Building Products and CSIRO Future Industries Sector are members of both Hargraves Institute and our Advisory Council which leads Hargraves’ agenda.)

We thank all our 2016 PSIA Study Tour hosts including Coca-Cola Amatil, CSIRO, CSR Building Products, Google, Griffith Hack, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Intersective, KPMG and Microsoft.

*The inaugural APS Innovation Awards were held this year by the Institute of Public Administration ACT (IPAA). Hargraves Institute was one of the sponsors.
