Innovation Mindset (online)

Innovation can come from unexpected places — your day-to-day work, a routine project or an informal chat. Because it’s not confined to specialist “innovation” roles, people or projects, any number of tools and techniques might work. It’s not the tools you use; it’s how you use them.

At Hargraves, when we talk about being innovative, we mean “helping innovation happen”  – and we all do it. The key is to understand your role by discovering your innovation mindset and strengths and building on them.

Over 4 sessions, participants in this interactive online program will explore the various attributes of an innovation mindset, identify individual strengths and contribution to innovation, and learn how to improve through better habits and tools.

  • Use the Innovation Mindset framework to reflect on your own experience and understand how you contributed to making an idea or innovation happen.
  • Realise your potential by learning how to engage with your workmates to deliver innovative outcomes using frameworks and tools.
  • Discover your innovation strengths to unleash your innovation mindset.
  • Understand what “innovation culture” really means and your role in accelerating team performance.
  • Take practical steps towards making change happen and building innovation capability into your day-to-day work.

Upon completion, you’ll be able to:

  • Identify your innovation mindset strengths.
  • Build on team strengths to innovate.
  • Use tools to develop new solutions to work challenges.
  • Understand how to make change happen and work towards an innovative team culture.

Delivery format:

Delivered in partnership with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

This online program will be delivered in 4 modules over 2 weeks (see Schedule below) with a follow-up session (tentatively 23 July 2021). We find this format provides great online collaboration and engagement while giving you time to absorb and practise your new skills in your day to day work. Upon completing the 4 modules, you’ll be encouraged to undertake a project to put what you’ve learned into practice, coming back together to share your experience, ask follow-up questions, and receive project feedback.

Designed for:

  • Anyone who wants to learn how to identify opportunities to do things better and understand their role in making innovation happen.
  • Leaders who are responsible for helping innovation happen in their team or building innovation culture in their team or organisation.
