- To improve the new product development outcomes for our respective businesses, measured in financial terms.
- Create a functioning network of non competing businesses to share best practice on an ongoing basis.
- Exhibit to our businesses the value of the Hargraves Institute fostering learning and growth that delivers tangible benefits.
- Identify best practice for new product development including benchmarking and metrics.
Expectations
- Establish an environment of open dialogue where all group members add value.
- Group members will respect confidentiality and observe common courtesy, simple team rules and etiquette.
- Whenever possible replacements will attend when key team member is unable to do so.
Project list
- To investigate appropriate TOOLS TO MANAGE IDEAS, INDIVIDUALLY AND IN PORTFOLIOS including selection criteria, software solutions and databases that deliver more successful ideas and outcomes.
- To investigate PROCESS, TOOLS AND METHODS TO GENERATE MEANINGFUL INSIGHTS that deliver better ideas and successful outcomes.
- To investigate PROCESS STEPS FOR IDEA GENERATION AND FEASIBILITY including idea filtering, nurturing and development while maintaining the integrity of the initial concept.
- To investigate COMMON LANGUAGE AND BENCHMARKS FOR THE NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS including decision points (Gates) that improve management on the process.
- To investigate HOW NPD integrates and links across other areas of the business including how other relevant areas organise themselves to best deliver their NPD responsibilities.
