Member Activities & Associated Costs
The following is a brief synopsis of Hargraves Institute's current programs and events, and the associated costs and benefits of these activities.
The Hargraves Institute has developed an exciting calendar of events and activities to deliver a range of outcomes to its members. All activities are aimed at specifically addressing member needs and are developed in close consultation with members.
Issues facing business are addressed collaboratively with consortiums of members where the power of numbers can deliver large outputs for small inputs. Individual members work directly with the Hargraves team to address specific issues through customised programs, services and activities including facilitation, training, specific introductions, and tailored consulting.
During 2009, Hargraves Institute held 82 member events, with over 1,660 participations. During that period, approximately 65% of our events were free to members, with over 56% of these events being exclusive to members. To date, over 335 companies have participated in Hargraves' collaborative activities.
All programs and events are initiated from member feedback and request, and all events are hosted by members. Please contact us if you would like to propose a topic or host an event.

TRIZ Program : The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving
This systematic creativity process consists of four major steps problem definition, selecting appropriate solution routes, generating solutions and evaluating and selecting the most appropriate course of action. This tool is based on three principles:
1. Problems and solutions were repeated across industries and sciences
2. Patterns of technical evolution were repeated across industries and sciences
3. Innovations used scientific effects outside the field where they were developed
In the application of TRIZ all 3 of these findings are applied to create and to improve products, services, and systems. Hargraves Institute offers workshops, user groups and supportive material to assist in the implementation of this powerful problem solving process.
Cost: $995 per workshop registration
